2024 – 2025 Season COVID Rules to be applied in Regional Tournaments
As the FIRST Robotics Competition Committee, while preparing for the events in the 2025 season, we tried to create a plan on how to manage possible events at different stages of the pandemic.
We wanted to publish this plan early so that you can be informed in advance about how the events will be organized this season and use it as a guide.
Of course, we would like to state that this plan may be updated depending on the rules of our Ministry of Health and the conditions near the date of the event.
In this plan, you can also find information about the conditions under which we will host tournaments so that you can have fun in health and safety.

Team Operation Guide
You can access the team guide we have prepared as a team support team to help our teams organize their work during the pandemic period. While creating the content of the guide, attention was paid to the guidelines of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Health. The content is purely advisory and we recommend that you first take into account the announcements of local authorities regarding the pandemic.

İSTANBUL FAIR CENTER
Among the mission of the Istanbul Expo Center (IFM), which hosts an average of 100 fairs every year, is to make Istanbul the capital of world fairs. Istanbul Expo Center has the largest fairgrounds in Turkey. IFM fairground covers approximately 96.000 m² of the World Trade Center Istanbul fair complex, which is built on an area of 500,000 m².
Operated by WTC Istanbul, IFM hosts numerous visitors and fairs every year. The biggest fairs in the sectors of the companies hosted at the fairs are being held. At the same time, hosting visitors from all over the world, IFM is a full-service exhibition center.
It can be reached with a 5-minute walk from the DTM-İstanbul Fuar Merkezi M1A (Yenikapı-Atatürk Havalimanı) Metro station. Many IETT buses pass in front of it. In addition to the metro information above the city’s public bus system’s website can be accessed from this link: https://www.iett.istanbul/en.
METU Development Foundation Private Primary School
METU Development Foundation Private Primary School was established in 1989 on an area of approximately 100 acres within the METU Campus. In the following years, Ankara Schools continued education and training with the opening of the Middle and High School sections, respectively, and gave its first graduates in the 1996 – 1997 academic year, and pioneered the opening of other schools that are now serving in different provinces with its contemporary and innovative educational philosophy. With over 850 teachers, around 300 support staff and approximately 7000 students, our school is a big family on its way to becoming a cornerstone in the Turkish National Education system.
By metro: If you want to use Kızılay-Çayyolu metro line, you can get off at Bilkent station and you can go to the campus by 5 min walk.

There are many restaurants in İstanbul World Trade Center, next to İstanbul Fair Center. Please visit https://idtm.com.tr/en for options. In addition, you can use the event area entrance to receive your online food orders.

İstanbul and Ankara Hotel Opportunities
We make contact with hotels near the venue both in Ankara and İstanbul. Also we negotiate on your behalf with nearby hotels in order to obtain reduced accommodation rates. All communication, reservation, payment etc. operations with the specified hotels are the responsibility of the teams themselves.

Transportation
Public transportation is very effective in İstanbul. In the area the event is being held, metro is usually faster than road-vehicles (busses, cars, etc.). İstanbul has legendarily bad traffic – so sticking to surface roads can be risky in terms of time. İstanbul Fuar Merkezi sits near an area called Bakırköy, which has a metro station on line M1A. (Yenikapı-Atatürk Havalimanı)
Both İstanbul airports are connected to the city by metro and by a network of coach buses to popular destinations in the city. The coach buses may be easier to use with large amounts of luggage. Taxis are available as well but may be difficult to communicate with and are not recommended.

Metro is well integrated with Google Maps.
If you plan to drive to the IFM, there is a paid parking garage on site.
Options for ordering food online to the venue
For catering services we suggest using YEMEKSEPETI https://www.yemeksepeti.com/en/ to order food to the Event Location.
Yemeksepeti Instructions: – They have both a phone app, and a website, you can order from either.
First you’ll need to select an area to search for food within – While at the Istanbul Fair Center you should select “Yeşilköy Istanbul, Fuar Merkezi, 34149” as the location.
If you are in Ankara you should select ” Üniversiteler, İhsan Doğramacı Blv No:5, 06800 Çankaya/Ankara “
then click “list restaurants”. Once you’ve chosen a restaurant, and the food you would like to order, click on the basket, Approve the basket,
you’ll have to log in (either create a basic account or log in with Facebook) and it will ask you about delivery instructions.
Use a phone number that preferably can receive calls here in Türkiye as the delivery person may need to call you to find you.
